Review Policy

We are now CLOSED to reviews.

I am currently on maternity leave after having my second baby, and am travelling for 6 months with my family on the wonderful island of Bali!

Hopefully I will be open to reviews when I am back in Australia at the end of year. If you do intend to send a review request then, please read the review policy below to see if your book fits in here at Ragamuffin Books.

Genre

Children’s fiction: Picture Books, middle grade, early readers, chapter books, wordless picture books, and Young Adult. I am particularly keen on books by Australian authors/illustrators.

Format

I prefer hard cover or paper backs. I do not accept PDFs.

Timeliness

I will attempt to get back to authors/publishers/publicists as soon as possible. Reviews can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. If your book does not fit this blog and I am unable to review it, you will be notified.

Review Style

I generally try to keep reviews positive as Ragamuffin Books is about sharing great children’s fiction. I rarely give stars or scores. If there are things I think could be improved, it will be mentioned in the review. If I particularly dislike a book, I will not review it.

All reviews are posted across social media pages including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads and Pinterest. If you have specific tags, hashtags or accounts you want mentioned – please advise in your email.
